Springtime Gardening!

Springtime gardening offers a beautiful canvas for cultivating happiness. Here are some simple tips to create joy through gardening during this season:

Choose Cheerful Colors: Opt for colorful flowers like tulips, daffodils, and hyacinths to add vibrant hues to your garden. Bright colors can uplift your mood and create a sense of happiness.

Create a Relaxing Space: Designate a cozy corner in your garden for relaxation. Add comfortable seating, such as a bench, hammock, or a cozy sitting area of outdoor furniture, surrounded by fragrant flowers or herbs. It's a perfect spot to unwind and enjoy the beauty of nature.

Grow Edible Delights: Plant herbs, vegetables, and fruits that you love. Harvesting your own produce not only provides satisfaction but also promotes a sense of accomplishment and well-being. Going to a friends home and need a happy garden gift?  Check out our two in one giftable soy candles.  It’s a beautiful candle and you can plant the box to grow mint, lavender, sunflowers or tomatoes.

Invite Wildlife: Incorporate elements that attract birds, butterflies, and bees into your garden. Bird feeders, butterfly bushes, and bee-friendly flowers not only enhance the biodiversity of your garden but also bring joy through the sights and sounds of nature.

Embrace the Senses: Engage all your senses by selecting plants with diverse textures, scents, and shapes. The rustling of leaves, the fragrance of blooming flowers, and the feel of soft petals can evoke happiness and mindfulness. Rain chains and wind chimes also can be wonderful to use by your garden.

Keep It Manageable: Start small and gradually expand your garden as you gain confidence and experience. Avoid overwhelming yourself with too many tasks or plants. Gardening should be a source of joy, not stress. I love to use my Kitchen Gardener’s Gift set.  It includes all the essentials to de-stress during and after gardening. It contains: A rich, moisturizing hand cream, enriched with organic shea butter and marigold extract. Perfect for daily use or soothing and moisturizing the hands after a day in the garden. A handy-sized pulse point oil designed to keep the bugs at bay, great for popping in your handbag or rucksack for days out. A traditional beeswax lip salve that acts as an effective barrier to help prevent lips from becoming dry and cracked. Spray this refreshing spray - literally anywhere. Suitable for use as a unisex body spritz or simply to surround yourself with a refreshing fragrance.

Celebrate Growth: Take time to observe and appreciate the growth and changes in your garden. Document the progress through photographs or a journal. Witnessing the transformation from seeds to blooms can be incredibly rewarding.

Share the Joy: Invite friends, family, or neighbors to enjoy your garden with you. Host gatherings, picnics, or gardening workshops to spread happiness and cultivate a sense of community.

Practice Mindfulness: Use gardening as an opportunity to practice mindfulness. Focus on the present moment, breathe deeply, and let go of any worries or distractions. Connecting with nature in this way can bring a sense of peace and contentment.
Be Kind to Yourself: Remember that gardening is a journey, not a destination. Embrace mistakes as learning opportunities and don't be too hard on yourself. Enjoy the process and celebrate the small victories along the way.
